Introduction

Today we are reviewing a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device from Synology.  The NAS in question is the newly released DS210j, which is a two drive NAS box with support for JBOD, RAID-0 and RAID-1.

If you’ve not heard of Synology before, it’ll probably be because they only make NAS devices (for home and office), and you’ve not really looked into any. The reason I say you won’t have looked into any, is because Synology are quite a big name in the NAS world, so you’d have been hard pressed to miss them. Synology have this to say about themselves:

Synology at a Glance
Founded in 2000, Synology is a young and energetic company dedicated to developing high-performance, reliable, versatile, and environmentally-friendly Network Attached Storage (NAS) products. Our goal is to deliver user-friendly solutions and solid customer service to satisfy the needs of businesses, home offices, individual users and families.”

Well, let’s get down to reviewing this thing shall we?
