First Impressions

Here we have the front of the box - it has a very rigid look to it - dark colours and varying shades of grey make for a pretty cool presentation. Various features are displayed on the left of the box - namely: "SteelSeries XY2 - 40,000 samples per second". I'm sure if I had a better understanding of mice, this figure could well turn out to be normal, however, to the average guy, this figure sounds brilliantly fast!  Other things you can gather from the front are that the Laser is sensitive to 3200 CPI and also features a pretty good software package (enabling macro's and profiles etc).

The back of the box shows us more specifications - including "Acceleration - 20G" I assume this is g-force, and indicating how quick you can move the mouse? Below the specifications at the top are two diagrams showing the mouses features in better detail. To the left is information on the mouse itself, and to the bottom right is a box with information on SteelSeries Professional Gaming Gear.

The top of the box features various gaming industry endorsements.

The base features "Designed for"/"Certified for" Windows XP and Vista logos, you can also see the mouse within its window, at this angle the SteelSeries logo is particularly clear.

On the right hand side of the box are more endorsements - namely other review websites, featuring at least 93% (although most seem to rate it 100%!).  On the left hand side of the box are translations for the information on the front of the case, along with the Ikari and SteelSeries Logos.
