Conclusion

As I said before, the Roccat Tusko sure does look the part, and it does a great job of allowing you to quickly pack (and unpack) your monitor, mouse and keyboard with practically no hassle at all. It’s well padded for protection from bumps and knocks and the quicklock straps ensure everything is securely strapped in with ease. Its build quality is a great standard and looks like it will last for ages.

The shoulder strap is thick enough that you won’t feel the strap digging or cutting into you, but even the padding can’t stop all the weight of a monitor etc on one shoulder from aching after a while. This product was never intended for long distance carrying though, and will be perfect for its intended task of moving your monitor/mouse/keyboard to and from the car at LAN parties etc.

The Achilles heel of this bag (and it’s a pretty big one) is that it only supports monitors up to 19”. There are very few people that I know that have decent gaming rigs (exactly the type that are likely to bring their own computer to a LAN event) that are still using monitors that are 19” or less. You might be able to cram a 20” monitor in the bag, but if you can, it will be overhanging the safety of the padding which will leave it vulnerable to knocks and damage which is hardly a good compromise.

Overall I think Roccat have a good product on their hands here and I really like the idea/implementation of it, but it is let down by its monitor size restraints, I hope to see a bigger 22” version in the future , I’d give it our recommended award, but as it stands, I can only justify a Gold award.

Pros

  • Quick packing/unpacking
  • Monitor is Secure and well protected
  • Spaces for keyboard/mouse frees up hands from carrying
  • Comfy Shoulder strap

Cons

  • Can’t use it with monitors over 19”

Reality Check: If you attend LAN parties/Events, and take a monitor 19” or smaller with you then the Roccat Tusko will be perfect for you. Sadly if you use a monitor over 19”, this handy bag will be useless to you.
