Moving onto the contents of the package, first we have the manual. Its nothing fancy and consist of a single sheet of paper but it is very clear and has directions and pictures of how to fit the drive into the caddy and then how to attach the drive bay into your pc.

Next there are the cables, first up the usb cable for using the caddy externally. The other cable is an eSata cable, again for using the drive externally via an eSata port.
And finally, before moving onto the caddy, a small pack of screws.
Ok onto the caddy. The main body of the caddy is aluminium with plastic front and rear panels. The SilverStone logo is printed on the top.
The finish on the aluminium is no less than perfect, also no less than I expect, coming from SilverStone. Its good to see a £25 drive caddy gets the same quality of finish as a £150 case.
Moving around to the rear panel, the connections are all clearly labelled.
The front “nose” looks like it might have a couple of led’s built in, presumably these will be for power and activity.
Lastly is the 3½ inch docking bay, it comes hard wired with a sata cable and power cable which seem plenty long enough at 55cm each. I am a little surprised to see the dock doesn’t have a door on it though.
Surprisingly the power connector for the caddy is a Molex connection being a sata caddy I would have expected a sata power connection?
The “data” cable is, unsurprisingly, a sata connection. Ok lets get the MS05 installed and tested. Next Page - Installation and Testing
