Conclusion

The V1’s unique design wasn’t something that appealed to me when I first saw it. It is still not something that I look at and think, yes that is sexy, but on the other hand it’s not something that I am repulsed by. However its design obviously works and allows it to offer exceptional cooling performance.

As I mentioned earlier, the high fan speed setting is too loud for 24/7 use, but the adjustable dial will allow everyone to get the right balance between noise and performance that suits them best.

Available for £31 this cooler sits in the average price range for a decent aftermarket cooler. Installation is a breeze and it is sufficiently light enough to not put any strain on the back of the motherboard.

With everything considered, I am pleased to give the V1 our recommended award:

Pros
• Unique Looks
• Manually adjustable speed
• Really quiet Fan on low
• Outstanding performance
• LED fan (I’m a sucker for blue LED’s)

Cons
• Fan is too loud on high

Reality Check: If you need an aftermarket CPU cooler and aren’t put off by the V1’s unique design then it is definitely worth getting. Cooling performance is excellent, mounting a breeze and the fan is really quiet on low.
