Introduction

Amaryllo is a new European company that designs, produces and markets GPS/Navigation and Multimedia solutions. The company is founded in October 2005 by a group of professional and enthusiast people who have years of experience in successfully operating in these markets. Amaryllo is headquartered in Nieuwe Wetering in The Netherlands, approximately 35 kilometers to the South-West of Amsterdam.....

Amaryllo will offer a full range of GPS and navigation products:
• Navigation accessories will be offered like wired and Bluetooth GPS receivers, adapter cables and car chargers or AC chargers. All attractively packaged in retail box or blister pack. All products will have localized manuals and will be branded as Amaryllo.
• System products that will be offered are stand alone solutions that do not have to be connected to a PDA or laptop to work, but are fully functional by themselves. The Trip Tracker is a small GPS device with integrated display that can be used by trackers, bi-cyclists and water sport-enthusiasts to log their trip and as navigational aid. They often can be combined with powerful applications or web applications to increase the GPS experience on your PC.
• Total solutions will be offered like personal navigation devices with integrated TMC functionality.

The goal of Amaryllo is to become a recognized brand and a leading player in the navigation and multimedia markets. This through offering the right solutions to the end-users. Ease-of-use products, localized documentation, high-quality support and product warranty will be offered to the customer. Product Management will be driven by market demands. Besides these products, Amaryllo will OEM their technology to third partners.

Amaryllo is headquartered in Nieuwe Wetering, the Netherlands. Manufacturing and assembly are done in Taiwan and China. Amaryllo products will be actively marketed and sold in Europe and Asia. The clear mission is “touch your imagination”, stating exactly what Amaryllo wants to achieve; products that are nice to have, easy to use and offer good value for money.

As you can see Amaryllo are a young company looking to offer some of the best navigation options on the market. Today we are going to look at one of there first products the Amaryllo ROOTS - USB, SiRFstar III chipset GPS receiver. This is the first product we will be looking at from them and we got it that early that the packaging wasn’t even available at the time we received it. But as I said before it’s the product that is on test here so let us move on and take a look at specs and features of the product.
