NZXT Phantom 410 Tower

Once we get under the covers of the 410 we get a peek of just how much NZXT have packed in to this mid tower.

Plenty of space has been provided behind the motherboards tray with an average of 17mm between tray and side panel allowing for even a =bound 24pin cable to sit in the gap without causing any issues, three grommet holes are provided to route cables in to the main case body, a nice touch lies right at the very top of the case there a small punch out allows the 4 or 8 pin CPU connector to bass through, this is a great little addition although it is only just big enough for the connector.

A very large cut out is provided to access the CPU retention plate and this time round it is in the right place (were looking at you Tempest EVO). Also keeping with NZXTs current styling are the hard drive trays, these are only removable from the motherboard tray side of the case.

The upper HDD cage is completely removable allowing for even the longest of modern graphics cards the case is on plastic rails much in the same style as Fractal Design’s Define although the 410 HDD cages cannot be rotated 90deg.

NZXT have sacrificed a lot of optical bays for the extra options but with the current trend towards high end builders using external ODD or no ODD this is a good trade off to be making at this point given market trends.

Included in the floor is a single mounting for a 120mm fan located just behind the HDD cages and at the back is the now standard edition of a vent for inverted PSU mounting, note, whilst super long PSUs are supported you will not be able to use the floor fan at the same time.

Several additional cable pass holes can be seen at the lower portion of the motherboard tray these however don not have a grommet and only large enough for fan or IO headers to fit.

The optical bays are all too less with the option to remove the tool less latches and use provided thumbscrews, conveniently located at the rear of the optical bays.

Although the tool less latches are very hard to damage they are very easy to accidently pull out of there mounting plates so some care pulling to disengage needs to be taken

The front bezel is devoid of any dedicated wiring making removal a simple affair with a convenient recess in the bottom of the bezel, a quick pull and the bezel pops off its fixings.

A single 120mm fan is included, mounted in the lower portion of the front of the chassis and space is provided for a second 20mm fan, the style and orientation of the HDD bays directly behind the mounts however blocks off a lot of the airflow to the interior of the case.

As with the front the top plastics are devoid of fixed cables allowing for easy removal without the mess of threading cables to give slack, the roof space is designed with fitting a radiator in mind, some real care has been taken to provide radiator support with a handy cut-out towards the front of the case allowing access to the radiator ports from inside the main body of the chassis.

Whilst this is not a unique feature not many other manufacturers who have adopted the radiator in roof void approach have planned ahead and added through holes to access the radiator fittings without the need for modifications.
