Built for gaming enthusiasts and audiophiles alike, the CM Storm Sirus 5.1 Surround Sound Headset creates an immersive gaming experience with hi-fidelity sounds capes and intensified bass.

Sirus produces precise and immaculate sound through its 8 discrete speaker channel pairs of front, rear, centre, and sub; delivering accurate real-time 360 degree audio that is fully adjustable through its tactical mixing console. In addition, Sirus is coupled with a uni-directional microphone that minimizes background noise pickup enables crystal clear conversations with teammates and enemy combatants.

My take on the topic

The market is full of headsets of all types, from almost every company I can think of so it would need to be one hell of a product to stand above the rest in this growing area of cutting edge headset audio for PC gaming.

Cooler Master have brought the Storm Sirus 5.1 in to the market and are aiming it directly at the high end serious gamer. In a market that is full of so called Gamer audio solutions, where few make the grade what can Cooler Master bring to the table in this busy market sector.

At a glance the specs certainly look good, the most stand out is that multiple drivers (Speakers) that are listed. Despite many headsets claim to have 5.1 and even 7.1 sound, very few contain multiple drivers and instead rely on simulation with clever use of sound dynamics to “trick” you in to believing that what you are hearing is real surround sound. It is very nice to see a device with multiple drivers for a genuine surround sound effect.
