ZOTAC GeForce GTX 480 AMP

Once again, I think itís worth pointing out that the Inno3D GTX 480 is in itself an overclocked card (720Mhz core, 1440Mhz shader, 3800Mhz memory). So the Zotac GTX 480 AMPís performance will be even better than the stock GTX 480 which is not included in these tests.
Performance is somewhat predictable, coming consistently a few fps ahead of the other GTX 480 we pitted it against in these tests, but there are a couple of games that love the GTX 480 AMPís higher clocks more than you would expect and take a small jump to even higher performance in the tests.
For me though, the main reason for choosing a Zotac GTX 480 AMP wouldnít be its extra performance, it would be for its aftermarket-as-stock cooler. There arenít that many GTX 480ís with non-reference coolers, so itís refreshing to see one with a decent aftermarket cooler included.
You can find the Zotac GTX 480 AMP for £370 online, and while it is about £20-30 more expensive than a generic GTX 480, you are getting a heavily overclocked and custom cooled card for the money.
- Big factory overclock
- Custom cooling
- Quieter than stock
- Large power requirements
Reality Check: The Zotac GTX 480 AMP is custom cooled, and factory overclocked. Itís well worth stepping up from the stock GTX 480 for faster, cooler, quieter gameplay.
