Installation was the same as every other PSU, there was plenty of reach on all of the Toughpower XT 850W’s cables, and made routing them for clean cable management a breeze.
Here we can see the status led’s on the PSU, and they are all lit green (which means everything is working as it should!)

On Review |
On review: Thermaltake Toughpower XT 850W power supply
Readings were taken of all the voltage rails at Idle, Load and in the BIOS. To ensure full load the PC was set running with the following applications: ORTHOS, Adaware’s smart scan, Importing a CD with iTunes and running the 3d mode on ATI Tool. This put load on pretty every much component in the computer. All voltage readings were taken with a digital multimeter.
Results
Here are the results of our testing
The Toughpower XT 850W didn’t bat an eyelid at the load my test rig could place on it. Voltage didn’t move by more than 0.01v on any rail. This is great performance.
