Fortunately this PSU isn’t a giant one as the size of the box might have you believe, but the box is just that big as it has been very well protected with foam and bubble wrap to make for a very safe and secure PSU for shipping.
The accessories bag (sorry I didn’t take a picture of that, it’s just a black material thing with a Velcro close flap) contains all the modular connectors, a few extension cables.
The included connectors are:
- 24pin ATX
- 4/8pin 12v Aux ATX
- 8x SATA Power
- 8x Molex Power
- 2x Floppy Power
- 2x 8pin PCIe Power (with 2x adaptors to use with 6pin PCIe graphics cards)
- 2x 6pin PCIe Power
There is also included:
- Anti-vibration silicon thing
- Case badge
- Screws
- Mains power lead
- Velcro cable tidy fasteners
For so much power the 850W Toughpower XT PSU is a decent size, measuring just 16cm long.
You shouldn’t have any clearance issues if you choose to use this PSU in your PC.
The top (bottom?) of the PSU has the sticker with wattages and warning info on).
The back of the PSU is fairly well ventilated, and is mostly a regular PSU, but above the on/off switch is a ‘fan delay cool timer’, this regulates how long after the PC has shutdown the PSU fan stops spinning. The options available are 15seconds, 30seconds and auto.
The connector side of the PSU has all the modular connections labelled out clearly. The read connectors are for PCIe connections. The black ones are for molex and sata, and the final sideways black connector is for the CPU 4/8Pin.
The other side just has a little vent and a sticker with the quality tests it passed (so nothing worth looking at, but this side has the nice product sticker, and rather out of the ordinary, three little LEDs. These are lit up when the PSU is on standby, when it’s received a PG signal (I presume this means the one the motherboard sends to say turn on!), and a temperature light (not sure at what temperature it turns red though, so it’s usefulness is questionable).
