Thermaltake TMG A3 Silent CPU cooler

Posted by: Mac on: 29.01.2007 01:00:00 [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

Upon opening the box we can see the TMG A3 is well protected by a generous amount of packaging, always a good sign and something I have come to expect of Thermaltake.

Removing the TMG from the box it has a nice hefty feel to it and construction is very good.

The base of the heatsink is well protected with a plastic cover, which we like to see, as any damage to the base of the heatsink would severely hamper its performance. The TMG A3 also comes with Thermal transfer compound pre-applied to the heatsink which may or may not be a good thing depending if you like to use a specific compound.

The fins of the heatsink are fairly thin compared to the air gaps, which means they should conduct heat away reasonably quickly thus helping performance. The Thermaltake logo is also moulded into the side of the fan mount.

Connecting the TMG A3 to your motherboard is simply a case of plugging the 3-pin connector into the usual CPU fan header on the motherboard.

The instructions are clear and show a step-by-step guide on how to fit the TMG A3 in both a picture format as well as descriptions.

There is also an information leaflet on “Key 3 Spirit” a new concept from Thermaltake.
