The cooler comes encased in the plastic holder with the accessories box neatly held underneath it.
And in the accessories box we find
- Case sticker
- Some other info sheet
- Thermal paste
- AMD and LGA775/1366 mountings
Now this is the money shot of why the SpinQ is so unique. It really does look a world apart from the design of other coolers that Iíve seen.
To make effective use of itís design, the Thermaltake SpinQ uses a radial blower fan which pushes air out along the whole length of the cooler maximising the surface area used to cool the heatpipes.
And here we can see the 6 heatpipes used in the cooler.
Note that like so many of Thermaltakeís coolers they use a manual fan speed controller, this is a nice feature I think, as it allows you to set the perfect balance of noise vs cooling performance, so if you find the cooler too loud on full, you wonít have to put up with it being that loud.
The base of the cooler is definitely flat, and appears to be mirror like, unfortunately there were some smear marks of something on the base (as seen here making the reflection hazy), and while cleaning it did make them less apparent (and the base more reflective) they didnít seem to go away entirely. However Iím sure this wonít effect cooling performance, so letís get on with testing this† cooler.
