The 5H V2 headset has very nice packaging - so much so that I thought I should include this pic (which also helps to show off the headset!)
The headset itself looks very smart. You can also see from this picture, that its headphones feature quite large cushions (which should help keep your head comfy during long gaming sessions).
The design of this headset is pretty cool. I particularly like the bits between the top of the headset, and the headphones themselves (seen above - the white bit on the left).
The headset also features a retractable microphone. This is on the left hand side headphone.
Here we have the retractable microphone - un-retracted. Also on the left hand side headphone is the 5H v2 logo. Just below the logo is a vent, and then a small "L" to indicate it is the left headphone.
On the right hand headphone is the SteelSeries Logo, and an "R" to indicate it is the right hand side headphone.
A shot of the headphones as if worn (by a person with a very thin head???!!!).
The headphones pivot quite freely (but not loosely), so the headset should easily adjust to any head! They also feature extendable bits on both sides - to adjust for any head-height.
A nice feature SteelSeries have added to the 5H V2 headset is the ability to take it apart into three pieces - this will enable for easier transportation (and should mean it's less likely to get damaged in transit between LAN parties and alike!).
SteelSeries avoid having cables run across the top of the headphones by having some cables internal to the headset - with disconnect-able ends. This is quite clever in my opinion, and neatens the overall look of the headset.
Included with the headset is an instruction/promotional booklet and a 2x3.5mm jack extension lead.
As I found a way with my SteelSeries Ikari Laser Mouse review to spell "1337" (or "Leet"), I thought I had best give it my best shot with the SteelSeries. Not only does this prove that the Headset is 1337, it also shows how long the 3.5mm extension cable is!
