In the last couple of years, RAM has really shown it’s importance in a PC for getting a good stable overclock. With both Intel and AMD locking multipliers, and adding the advantage of running RAM at 1:1 with FSB, the quality of RAM you have makes a huge difference to what you can get out of a CPU and motherboard.
SimpleTech have been a manufacturer of Memory and flash based solutions since 1990, primarily for OEM customers. With all this experience with memory modules, they have recently made a move into the gaming/enthusiast market with their Nitro series of PC3500, PC3700 and PC4000 modules at 256MB and 512MB densities in both single and dual module kits. However it is a crowded market out there, with a lot of well-known brands around to compete with.
Today I will be looking at SimpleTech’s solution to this problem, their 512MB PC4000 dual-channel kit (2 x 256MB). Lets see if they have what it takes.
