On paper the DA700 has a very impressive spec list and the main thing that stands out is the single 12v rail rated at 58amps, no multiple 12v rails on this psu. I am pretty sure every thing but the most powerful of computers should be happy with that. The 24 and 30 amps respectively for the 3.3v and 5v rails are pretty good too. It has all the protection circuits that all good power supplies should have, over current protection, over power protection, over voltage protection and short circuit protection and I would have been very disappointed if the DA700 didn’t come with them.

Looking down to the cables supplied the DA700 is ready for the new 8 way pci-e powered graphics cards, albeit only a single card, so even the newest graphics cards are all compatible and it also has 2 dual 6pin pci-e cables so you can double up on your 8800’s if you feel the need too. With 6 sata power connectors and 6 ide / Molex power connectors there should be no shortage of available power for hard drives / optical drives / peripherals. The fan is a 120mm fan rated at 22dBA “minimum” which is reasonably quiet so lets hope it doesn’t get too much louder as the pressure is put on it.

Let’s take a closer look at the DA700.
