As far as DVD-RW drives go, this one is actually quite a good one - with its ability to write "LabelTag" labels, and the inclusion of Nero 8 Essentials, you're onto a winner! Its small form factor is definitely a plus. During benchmarking, we can see that this drive consistently exceeds its specifications. LiteON claim this drive to be the "Worlds Fastest Drive" - without group-testing all drives on the planet, I can't confirm this claim, however it is pretty dam fast as far as I can tell and a good solid choice if I say so myself.
Pros
- Can be picked up for as little as £17 if you shop around
- Quiet during films & DVD/CD burning
- LabelTag - innovative free labelling of CD/DVDs
- Bundled with the great Nero 8 Essentials software
- Supports multiple formats including DVD+R-DL
- No coasters
Cons
- A little noisy when reading normal data - e.g. Software Installations
- LabelTag software
Reality Check: There isn't much to separate one drive from another these days, but LiteON have made something worth thinking about - LabelTag - for this reason alone, you should choose this drive over other DVD-RWs if you're in the market to buy one.
