Inno3D Geforce GTX580 Overclock

The Inno3D GTX580OC was always going to be a good card, after all, Inno3D know their stuff when it comes to pre-overclocked cards. Additionally, the GTX580 GPU is very powerful – a better, tweaked version of the GTX480. You would expect this to be a good card then, however I conclude that this is in fact a Great card. It really is top-dog when it comes to single-gpu graphics cards. Offering really notable performance over its cheaper competition.
However, we do have to look at that price point - £400+. There is no way around it, it is expensive. And, in real world terms, you are unlikely to actually need that extra performance over the competitively priced Inno3D GTX460OC unless you have a high-resolution setup.
But, if you are anything like me – and need the best performance. Maybe you don’t have lots of spare cash, but let’s face it; you probably don’t go out that much– and therefore don’t have that outlay every month. You may end up “in the red”, and your bank manager may fall out with you, but you will be content in knowing you currently own the fastest single-gpu graphics card known to man.
Pros
- Fastest single-gpu graphics card on the market
- Allows you to turn up the settings to max (apart from Metro 2033!)
- Reasonably quiet HSF
- Inclusion of mousemat is a nice touch
Cons
- Not Cheap
Reality Check: Whether you’re looking to post the highest benchmark scores, or rather trying to build the ultimate gaming-machine known to man, the Inno3D GTX580 Overclock will not disappoint!
