Exceleram are a new company on the computer hardware scene, having launched independently in as recent as October 2010. So if you’ve not really heard about them, you can be forgiven!

Here’s what Exceleram have to say about themselves:
“The brand Exceleram is a division of Topower Logistic GmbH, which resides in beautiful palatine Landau, Germany. Exceleram specializes in main memory und flash products like SSDs and USB sticks.

Exceleram was established by a Taiwanese producer as a new label in October 2007 to capture the market with constant high quality and low pricings In July 2008 it was taken over by another memory brand to offer low price memory of prime quality.

In October 2010 Exceleram became independent and was introduced on the German market to become quite successful.

The slogan “assembled in Germany“exports the high quality. To consistently guarantee customers these high quality standards, Exceleram memory is subjected to stringent German quality controls.

The Exceleram team has many years of experience to guarantee memory overclocking potential as well as high compatibility with all common/current mainboards.

The young flexible team in Germany works highly motivated and relies not only on high quality but primarily on uncomplicated service and direct, long-standing contact with their customers as well as their producers in Taiwan.

No customer will feel abandoned at Exceleram, arising problems or questions will be answered immediately by our support in Germany.”

Wow they know how to praise themselves don’t they!

The memory we will be testing today is of part number EP3001A, which Exceleram are selling at 1333Mhz, but with the intention that it will be used for overclocking:
“The EP series includes memory(kits) based on timing latencies of (currently) 1333mhz, but with "air" up to the top, so that overclockers have their fun.” says Steffen Eisenstein, Product Manager at Exceleram. We start with 3 models: the EP3001A, a 2GB 1333MHz CL9 single module.

Followed by a 4GB (2x 2GB) 1333MHz CL9 Memorykit and a 6GB (3x 2GB) 1333MHz CL9 kit, both with the known "Rippler" heatsink. The voltage is 1.5 volts and all are exclusively equipped with the famous Power Chip Rev. D 128 * 8 chips. What speeds are available, one can read the high score list on the Web site from Exceleram (http://www.exceleram.com/html/ep-serie.html). The currently peak is at 2214MHz.”

So these are bold claims for a company trying to get in on the overcrowded memory market, let us get on with the review and see if they are worth thinking about.
