Installation
The installation process is pretty simple; you go through about 6 screens with no real user input other than clicking next and agreeing to the licence agreement.
However, if you are a Vista user, make sure you pay attention to the sixth screen:
Here, Vista users are advised to hit cancel two screens ahead. XP users can carry on with the installation process by continually clicking next. The screen in question follows on from the one below. Make sure you’ve got your finger on the Esc key or your mouse in the middle of the screen, as you get a very short period of time to hit cancel.
The reason for this is (from what I can gather) VoiceBuddy has its own Voice Recognition system for users of Windows XP, but Vista users are forced to use Vista’s inbuilt Voice Recognition system, however, I’ll talk more about that later.
Voice Buddy requires online activation/registration; but this is not much of a hassle as some protection systems – e.g. Crysis Warhead’s DRM, in that the activation is done via your web browser, meaning you could do it on a different PC if yours is not connected to the internet.
