Getting into this type of packaging was your typical struggle and can only be achieved with scissors or by careful use of a knife but once in we got our hand on the goods. Before checking out the USB wifi dongle as I like to call it I’ll check out the extras first.
First up is a quick install guide.
A quick flick through it, or rather unfolding it, shows me that whilst very basic it does tell you how to install the USB WiFi adapter and start the software wizard, which should be enough for most people.
Moving on, next out of the packaging was the software CD. Which, as you can see, contains the EZMax set up wizard, multi language quick install guide and a user guide.
Last out of the packaging before moving onto the USB WiFi adapter is the mounting cradle, which, sadly, is not magnetic. It does have a nice non-slip pad on the bottom of it so it should be reasonably secure on whatever you stand it on.
Onto the USB WiFi Adapter it’s self. I have to say I am surprised by the size of it, it is tiny, and ignoring the antenna the rest of it is smaller than your average pen drive. As mentioned the antenna can be angled and whilst it does move it is tight enough to not flop about so will stay put when you set it to whatever direction / angle you need.
It comes with a plastic cover over the actual usb connector, which is gold plated, so it is very well protected. As for the button all I can tell you is it is a WPS configuration button (wifi protected set up), until I actually get it installed and press it I don’t know what it does exactly.
I think that’s about all I can show you so let’s get it installed and tested.
