As you can see the ram is well protected in the box and comes in full size antistatic bags (same as ones used for full size DDR and DDR2) some would argue to keep the costs down, but really I think its just to ensure there is no movement in the box.
Removing the contents, we can see what we would expect in any memory package, the ram itself and a quick installation guide, let’s get the ram out of the bags and take a closer look.
As you can see Crucial have covered the ram with full info on the product as well as the serial ect on the sticker. This was quite puzzling for me and I need to show you why. First I will recap to the 3200 2 gig value kit we looked at a while ago (full size DDR).
The point of showing you this? Well I find it really strange that the 2 gig full size kit had no info on the timings or rated voltage and other info. Then we get this set of laptop ram and this happens
Yes as you can see, the Crucial SODIMM has all the info including the products timings. This I find very strange and I hope to see it on all there ram in the not so distant future. It is not a major thing, but I cannot believe the info is on laptop ddr2 and not the full size product.
These should be capable of a big increase when used with Photoshop and a few other memory heavy based programs. Anyway enough of the rambling and time to get down to what you all really want to see and that’s the performance results.
