As you can see it shares the same specs as sapphires model, but we all know the different partners versions always differ when it comes to benching so lets see what happens.

Install was easy and as you can expect done in 5 minutes, first port of call is to completely remove any traces of ATI drivers from the pc then reinstall drivers after card has been inserted. Now that’s done lets get this baby tested starting with 3dmark 05

As you can see even at stock the card is impressive and beats the vanilla 6800 with ease. But compared to the Sapphire it doesn’t quite do as well. I wont completely go mad though as the improvements are only minimal as the results show. Next the overclocked results.

You can clearly see, The Connect3d although in standard form is slightly below par when it came to overclocking it excelled and with no ram sinks either. I have to say I am impressed.
Real live omline game tests.
The games used for the test will be HL2 (counter strike source) and DOOM3, these will be run for a maximum of an hour with fps monitoring the average fps during the tests. Below are the results received.
HL2 Results

The same thing accrued in the HL2 at standard clock speeds the Connect3d didn’t match the sapphire but once the clock was lifted it stomped home. In addition, when you consider the stock cooler is aluminium compared to the copper reference design we see on the sapphire well it just goes to show….
Doom 3 results

Although the cooling on the sapphire looked like it should do better in the overclocking department. The Connect3d was slightly better with its aluminium GPU cooler and no ram sinks. I re ran test 5 times and the results were the same, with the x800xl from connect3d just piping the sapphire in the overclocked department but not at stock speeds.
