Well where do I begin, in all honestly I was surprised by this card quite a bit, it outperformed my expectations by a large margin really, ok I know modern cards will get faster and better but you have to look at the bigger picture here.
Here we have a low budget gaming card that can quite happily tinker along to a variety of games at 1600x1080 without struggling. Which when you consider the price range of it is something very amazing. This card is very small but packs a mighty punch and will suit a lot of you out there that cannot go above that resolution, it is almost as if AMD/ATI have made sure gamers on a budget have something to buy that will not leave them wanting..
We are just 3 months into 2010 I have to say if this card handles upcoming DX11 titles as well as it did in these test it would be a contender for my product of the year..
Highly recommended for the gamer on a tight budget.
- Great performance for a Budget card.
- Low wattage
- Copes really well with games at 1600x1080
- Opened my eyes a bit to the budget card market
- DX11 ready
- Not really for those that want to run 1900x1200 and above
Reality Check: If you are on a really tight budget and want to still be able to game this is the card for you, and considering there are a lot of people out there on 19” and 22” monitors that will not go above 1600x1200. Don’t overlook this little diamond.
(Editors note: on day of posting this review, the reviewer that tested this contacted me to see it has shocked him again by handling Bioshock 2 at 1600x1080 with everything maxed out, I think it is time to upgrade some of my families rigs with one of these)
