The Arctic Sound S111’s are kept secure in the box in an egg-crate like cardboard surround, and individually wrapped in protective bags. The box also contains an instruction manual, but there’s no point in looking at it with a product this easy to use.
Both speakers are 70mm in all directions, which makes them each about the size of a tennis ball. The colour scheme used is a gunmetal gray, with a lighter colour for the Arctic Sound logos, a trim around the front of the speaker box, and the drivers themselves.
The back of the speakers house all the wires you need, each cable is about a meter long, so there should be plenty of cable to position the speakers where you need them without it being too constricting. The left speaker has its own detachable cable, which will make storing the speakers that little bit easier.
The right speaker contains the USB power cable, and the 3.5mm audio in cable. Also on the back of the right speaker is the volume control, which is nice and big to facilitate a smooth adjustment in volume, even when you’re not looking directly at it.
The drivers on these speakers are barely 35mm big, so combined with Arctic’s own rating system, I’m not expecting much from them in terms of volume or bass reproduction. Let’s see how the S111’s perform.
