There’s no doubt about it the Antec True Power Quattro 1000 is one hell of a power supply and it should easily power the most powerful of today’s pc’s. It looks good with its racing stripes it is very well built, the fan is quiet its ALMOST perfect. The ONLY negative thing I can say about it, and it is a MAJOR flaw in my opinion for a psu of this class, is the lack of connections from the psu to allow you to connect up multiple peripherals. If you have more than 3 sata drives then I hope you don’t have many other items requiring a Molex connector, as this is where the Antec True Power Quattro 1000 falls down, and in my opinion it is almost criminal that Antec have only deemed it necessary to allow the user to plug in 3 cables to power the drives and accessories. This is a £150+ power supply after all.
If you are looking to buy a psu in this kind of range then, assuming your pc isn’t overflowing with hard drives and devices requiring a Molex connector, you could do a lot worse than getting the Antec True Power Quattro 1000.
• Should power even the most powerful of today’s pc’s.
• Good build quality.
• Looks good.
• Future proof with the 8 way pcie connections.
• Lacking in output connections (plenty of cables not enough physical outputs on the psu to plug them into).
• Not cheap but then it is a SERIOUS power supply.
Reality check: I can only award the Antec True Power Quattro 1000 a GOLD award due to the lack of connectivity options. Had I had a couple more outputs from the psu to allow the connection of more items without having to resort to Y splitter cables it would have definitely received a higher award.
