Well to start off I was pretty excited to see a Athlon II, I know I may sound a bit geeky but I bought my First ever Athlon way back in the days when 1.0 was not even possible and a Abit socket A motherboard was so hot it was like gold dust... So I was quite looking forward to getting this in. Did it disappoint, well no it didnít, it actually came out screaming kicking and punching, quoting My name is Budget welcome to my world.
Being an editor of a computer website gives me access to some fast hardware and I would say budget is not really my area. But having tried and tested what I can call a pocket change CPU ( I know its not exactly pocket change, but compared to the high end CPUís it is) I have to admit I was impressed, not only have AMD released a little gem here as I keep saying the price very encouraging. Highly recommended.
- Cost (Great price for performance)
- Newer AM3 Socket
- Overclocks well
- Novice overclocking easy via Overdrive 3
- Looking at the price there are none
Reality check: When you look over the results published here, it should show you one thing, that AMD are still producing some great CPUís and the Athlon II 250 is one of them and with the recent release of a budget quad Athlon II as well, for those on a budget the future is bright, if not a bit green.
