               AKASA

                        Complete

         Case and  Power Supply  Upgrade

What This Review is About?

Well basically I wanted to be different with a review so I decided to do a couple of case and power Supply reviews. Each item will get its own rating, But also all will have an overall price of all components.

The first offering we have is from Akasa

Now what you can see here is a Complete Case upgrade In this review for this we will need

Part-1 PaxPower PSU

PaxPower 12V ATX ULTRA QUIET PSU – BLUE Code AK-P460FG-BL  Price £ 63.00

The first thing you will notice from the picture on the box is the size of the fan but we will get to that later. Lets open the box and see what we got.

As you cans see there is no fancy stuff here Just good sturdy packaging, I have received a power supply before with no bubble rap around the supply so it was good to see Akasa never forgot this.

What’s Included in the box?

  •  INCLUDES Mains power cable ATX-20-24pin to EPS-24-pin cable adapter 4-pin to 2 x 3-pin cable adapter Retail pack

What are the Specs?

  • DESCRIPTION Full range 460 watts PSU Designed for AMD Athlon XP, Athlon 64, Intel P4 & EPS 12V for AMD Opteron & Intel Xeon Energy saving Active PFC Ultra quiet 12cm black - 2 ball bearing fan 18 dB(A) at normal load Auto thermal fan control Dual 12 Volt rails Over power protection Over current protection Over voltage protection Short circuit protection on each channel Hi-efficiency- 75% at full load 3.3V and 5V combined load 210W Quick release 4-pin power connectors Two SATA PSU connectors Aesthetically pleasing all black fittings Anti corrosive nickel black coating Black mesh cable wrap Auto switching voltage Dim: 150 x 140 x 86mm Full safety approvals

As you can see this Power Supply is no slouch and is up there with the best of them, but with one bonus its Quiet and I mean very quiet. When putting this in and powering up I was amazed with its silence, yes we all know 12 cm fans are quiet. This is hardly audible at all .

I’ll leave the in case pics for the end of the whole review and just give you a few teasers now

As you Can see from these Pics There is Sata As Well as quick release Molex connectors.

Now I must emphasize all silent power supply’s are quiet now with today’s Heat theoretically should get hotter than a normal supply due to either lack of fans or no exhaust fans. So when ever I Review a Silent or Fanless PSU I will be taking apart the PSU and putting a temp node on the Block(Don’t do this yourself or your void your warranty)  the reason I’m doing it is for information purposes

Temps

Standard 400w PSU     45.6

Ak-P460FG-BL             40.4

Performance wise this The PaxPower had no Problems sustaining a steady voltage throughout the test Not once did I see any alarming increases.

Conclusion

I was well impressed with this power supply and found the quick release Molex connectors handy. Also the quietness of the supply was nice, as for the quality of the finish its Spot on(who put that finger print on it) and nicely finished in anti corrosive nickel black coating.

If your looking for a quiet PSU then this is the one to go for, ok its not fanless but it is extremely quiet.

I Recommend if your looking for a power supply with a high wattage but if you want it quiet this is for you.

Top quality stuff from Akasa NICE JOB
