ABIT KV8-PRO 3rd EYE

   ABIT  KV8-PRO 3rd EYE socket 754 AMD 64

Today’s review is about Abit’s socket 754 board KV8 PRO-3rd eye, this is the second socket 754 board I have had in for review and it should be interesting, Why well this little baby uses Abit’s ́Guru technology this is a very advanced overclocking interface that utilizes a stand alone ́Guru chip on the motherboard this enables user to change voltages and clocks from within windows and the bios when bundled with the ́Guru clock it makes overclocking possible from the external clock (more on this later), lets take a look at the box

PART 1 – In the Box

Back Panel I/O

1 x PS/2 Keyboard, 1 x PS/2 mouse

1 x Serial Port, 1 x Parallel Port

1 x S/P DIF Output, 1 x S/P DIF Input

5 holes Audio connector (Front Speaker, Line-in, Mic-in, Center/Sub, Surround Speaker)

4 x USB, 1 x RJ-45 LAN Connector

Miscellaneous

ATX form factor 305 x 225 mm

As you can see this is no light weight and is fully loaded I also liked the fact that the board had all this overclocking technology. Let’s take a look at the board.

Open the box and you will be greeted by another 2 boxes one contains the ́Guru Clock and one the cables and accessories (IDE cables ect) under that you have the driver CD’s and instructions.

You will notice from the photos above that the Cpu cooler mount has not been attached yet, the reason (I believe) for this is because this board is aimed at Overclockers Abit probably think most of them will be using screw down coolers

Moving on to the external clock, this device is for control of your overclocking setups, setups??? You say, well ́Guru on this board enables you to setup the overclock levels with different settings let this is controlled by the clock through ́Guru. Let me give you some info to explain more.

It's easy to connect Guru Clock with an ABIT motherboard. Just connect the device via a USB cable and install the included software.

Select Turbo, Normal, Quiet, User1/2/3, Default or AutoDrive Overclocking options in real-time without entering Windows-based uGuru utilities. Finally, users can play games or other software in full screen and enhance system speed simultaneously. Gamers can turn up the heat on the competition without interrupting their game!

Simply press the "power" button on Guru clock to turn on/off your computer.

Shows detailed CPU/Fan speeds, temperatures, time and voltage and MSN/E-mail online notifications.

Display hardware monitoring status and warnings in a flash

Be notified via flashing icon once somebody wants to talk with you with MSN (Windows 2000) or when you receive a new e-mail after enabling E-mail checking and POP3 server settings

Display time and room temperature

As you can se this little clock adds loads of features as well as giving you voltage, temp and time readings  oh yeah must not forget the email feature  that could come in very handy. But you can see now the benefits of ́Guru , lets take a look at the Motherboard and the specs, I will get onto the ́Guru after I have installed this mobo. (Yes that’s right install it, with these features I have to test it).

Before I move onto the board it self here are the specs
