SteelSeries 5Hv2 MOH Edition Headset

Here we get to see the Medal of Honor branding that covers the drivers in full detail which matches the game perfectly, using light and dark shades of grey to make up an appearance that matches the unique characters clothing and feel from the game..

We also get to see the retractable microphone which our editor loves as not all games need a mic and it’s a bit annoying when you have this mic hanging on the side, yes they fold up on most with the fixed mic, but like him I prefer this style..

The Steelseries microphone is really flexible and can form any shape you want it to literary, this has been achieved by using a form of material that bends and flexes to such a degree that it become muilt-directional so you can literary bend the microphone however you want and it will hold the direction until you redirect it to another.
These sort of microphones are becoming ever more popular using the same flexible material but Steelseries have done one better and have covered the material with a thin coating of clear plastic which allows for a smooth motion while pulling the microphone in and out of the driver housing, they have also covered the tip of the microphone with a hardened plastic which has a slight tilt to it so you can position it to suit your gaming needs.

Steelseries have used a Braided cord throughout the 5Hv2 Limited Edition which is perfect as it gives your device not only more durability but also limits the amount of tangling that can happen to the wiring overtime, which has always been one of my pet hates with cables..
The volume control unit is really small, compacted and lightweight which really good, as there’s nothing worse than having a heavy control unit hanging in the way distracting you from your game play. Included on the unit is the volume control and a microphone setting which allows you to mute, low or high the microphone at your pleasure, Which is pretty handy if you forgot to adjust your settings before entering into a game.

Flipping the control unit over, Steelseries have added a clothing clip so you can attach the unit to yourself for easy, quick adjustments while using the headset. This has been made from metal for extra durability for a longer lasting wear and tear.

Steelseries have provided 9.8 ft of extension cable which is much needed as the wiring from headset to 3.5mm jack is quite short so unless you are plugging in the jack to a port that is really close by (like if you have a keyboard that has mic and audio jack), if not then you are going to need this extra cable length. This extension has also been braided for , and also the connectors are of the same quality on the headset.

So overall that this stage of the review I am really impressed with the 5Hv2 Limited Edition Medal of Honor Gaming headset, the build quality is robust and lightweight which is what I look for in a headset. (apart from the obvious product good sound)
