GELID Solutions

The English word "gelid" is derived from the Latin word “gelidus” (extremely cold, icy). 

“GELID Solutions Ltd. is a Hong Kong based company with Swiss Management and founded in 2008 by Gebhard SCHERRER and VC TRAN. Both have worked in the PC Cooling industry for a number of years and successfully built up an  IT company with their expertise.

GELID designs and manufactures packaging, thermal solutions, CPU coolers, fans, and other computer hardware for both gamers and silent enthusiasts and for international OEM and ODM customers. We provide computer hardware distributors, retailers and system integrators with innovative, virtually silent, high- performance and top quality thermal solutions with unique design and packaging.

Today I will be reviewing the Gelid GX-7. Gelid are another name on a list of companies who seemily have come out of no-where, but quickly raised to the top. Gelid have been around for nearly 4 years, and unlike many new companies in this industry, haven’t attempted to enter too many markets at once, rather focusing purely on HSF’s for CPU’s & GPU’s, Fans and Thermal Interface Material (TIM).

They haven’t for instance started producing PC Cases or PSU’s, where some of their competitors have. This surely should mean their design is more focused, and performance more developed. We’ll let the benchmarks be the judge of that, but if anything from their previous product range is to go by, this new cooler of there’s should be a solid performer.
