Installation and testing the device was easy really as the ZBOX AD02 Plus comes ready to go minus the operating system, inside you will find a 250 GB hard drive and 2 GB of memory.
As you can see from the picture above The AD02 Plus is pretty well laid out inside, on the left we have the HDD, which can be swapped out for a larger one if you need too (1TB anyone), top right is the memory ports and bottom right is the cooler, I don’t expect amazing temps for obvious reasons, but altogether this is one promising looking package.
Testing the product will involve running through some specific benchmarks, as the AD02 Plus is a complete PC minus a DVD drive, we will run main system specific benchmarks so we can get an idea of full system pefromance, rather than just graphics and memory.
First up AIDA 64 Cache and Memory
Ohhhh, now that’s a turn up for the books, I would have to say I was not expecting the results that came here and actually if I am honest was expecting a few hundred less across these results. Off to a good start I think.
Playback of 720p and 1080p video on the AD02 was great, the only thing I noted during this is the CPU usages was about 70-75% used during 1080p playback, quite more than I expected, but not something to go complaining about when you think of the power draw on the AD02.
